A federal judge has temporarily stopped the NCAA from enforcing a transfer eligibility rule for student athletes.
The decision is pending a case that was brought by state Attorney General Letitia James and six other attorney generals from across the county.
"The NCAA's transfer eligibility rule is not fair play, and we will continue to fight to ensure that college athletes do not need to choose between their academic goals and athletic pursuits,” James said in a statement.
The transfer eligibility rule prohibits division one athletes from competing for a year if they transfer schools twice.
