A fight among eight students at Middletown High School injured a teacher who stepped in to stop the 30-second brawl.

Superintendent Amy Creedon addressed the incident in a letter to the district. Creedon says the teacher required medical attention after de-escalating the situation.

She praised the faculty and staff’s dedication to safety.

The district and Middletown police are investigating, and family meetings were held with those involved who will face consequences.
