A deadly fire at a home in Tarrytown is now out after crews worked through the early morning hours to bring the flames under control.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at a two-family home on Highland Avenue.

At the scene, a body was seen being removed from the home, but authorities have not confirmed a fatality or released any details.

Neighbors tell News 12 an elderly couple lived inside the home.

Dozens of firefighters — between 75 and 100 — from Tarrytown, Irvington and Greenburgh responded, with trucks lining the narrow roadway as crews attacked the flames.

Firefighters worked from multiple angles, including ladders, while dealing with difficult conditions inside, including heavy clutter.

There were also early concerns that someone may have been trapped on the second floor.

Conditions were challenging for crews, with heat and humidity adding to the strain.

One firefighter was taken from the scene on a stretcher but was reported to be alert and talking.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
