Many of the 50,000 fans who filed into the old Yankee Stadium took extreme measures to attend the game. Some said they called out sick or used vacation days. A pair of young but loyal boys came all the way from their Virginia town, which has a population smaller than the stadium's capacity. Older fans said Monday's game was another way to add to a decade's worth of memories.
The Bronx Bombers beat Tampa Bay 9-5. Fans say they're 100 percent confident the Yankees will make it to the World Series this season.
