A former Westchester County police officer has filed several lawsuits that alleged he was fired for writing a traffic ticket.
Court documents show former Police Officer Joseph Saetta claims he was fired from the department for issuing a ticket to a driver who showed a "PBA courtesy card."
The Westchester County Police Department told News 12 it had not been served any court papers. The department said, however, that a police officer who was on probation was lawfully terminated.
In a joint statement between the county and police, News 12 was told, "The Westchester County Department of Public Safety remains dedicated to the recruitment and retention of officers who uphold the highest standards of professionalism and respect in their service to the community."
