Four Pace University students are facing misdemeanor charges Monday for a fraternity pledge prank.

State troopers say they caught the students red handed stealing a Town of Somers sign that welcomes motorists. The sign is usually posted at the intersection of Route 100 and Route 35. Michael Martino, 19, Nicholas Soracco, 19, Charles Doyle, 19 and Joseph Hkadki, 18, were arrested Sunday by an off-duty trooper who heard suspicious sounds near the intersection. He says he saw the teens take off in a car and followed them. While stopped at a restroom, police say the teens were arrested and the signs were recovered.

The four now face petty larceny and criminal mischief charges. They face up to a year in jail if convicted.
