The Westchester County Health Department is joining forces with some of its community partners to offer a free program to help people quit smoking.
"Freedom from Smoking" is a seven-week program created by the American Lung Association.
Officials say it's now available in Yonkers, Mount Vernon, White Plains and New Rochelle.
"Lung cancer is the No. 1 cause of cancer deaths in this country," said County Health Commissioner Dr. Sherlita Amler. "So, when people quit smoking, they can recover their health, and they can have long term benefits for the remainder of their life."
