A funeral mass will be held today for 18-year-old Dariel Vasquez, who tragically died fighting the Greenwood Lake fire.

Services will take place at 10 a.m. at St. Peter's Church in Haverstraw.

Flags on state buildings are flying at half-staff in his honor.

Vasquez, a Ramapo High School graduate, was helping create a fire line when a tree fell on him. He is remembered as brave, strong, and proud of his work.
