GOP leaders recommended Monday that Jeanine Pirro abandon her campaign to challenge Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-NY) and instead run for state attorney general.
Several Hudson Valley GOP leaders were among those attending a closed door meeting in Albany of the 62 county Republican chairs. Rockland County GOP Committee Chairman Vincent Reda said the support for a Pirro switch was overwhelming, and there will be a consensus coming out of the meeting.
Pirro issued a response saying that she remains a candidate for the U.S. Senate.
