New Yorkers can now purchase alcoholic beverages a little earlier on Sundays.
Gov. Kathy Hochul approved the new law allowing liquor stores to open at 10 a.m. on Sunday instead of noon.
The move will also allow retailers to sell beer before 8 a.m.
Gov. Hochul says the new legislation will help to modernize laws governing the sales of alcoholic beverages in New York.
The changes take effect immediately.
