Gov. Kathy Hochul acknowledged that the state budget is almost a month late but said Tuesday that she is hopeful that an agreement could be reached by the end of the week.
Hochul said even though her housing policy didn't make the cut, she plans to still continue to fight.
The governor said she wants to make New York more affordable and more livable by raising the minimum wage and driving down gun violence.
The latest extension passed in Albany gives lawmakers until Friday to pass a budget before state workers become at risk of not getting paid.
