- A FLOOD WATCH is in effect at 2 p.m. through late tonight. A slow moving frontal system will tap into a tropical air mass and bring locally heavy rainfall to the boroughs. Rainfall rates up to 2 inches an hour could lead to flash flooding.
- A HEAT ADVISORY is in effect 10 a.m. through 8 p.m. Heat index values up to 100 are expected.
- A HIGH RIP CURRENT RISK is in effect through this evening for Brooklyn and Queens beaches. Life-threatening rip currents are likely.
- It's warm, mostly sunny and very humid this morning. Temperatures are in the mid- to upper-70s.
- Today will be dangerously hot and humid under a mostly sunny sky. Highs will be in the low-90s. Heat indices between 97-101.
- Scattered strong to severe storms arrive after 2 p.m. through 12 a.m. There's a risk for severe weather. Damaging winds and flooding downpours are the primary concern. Downed trees/branches and flash flooding are likely with any severe storm cells.
