A hiker is dead after collapsing in Rockland County.

Spring Hill Ambulance members say they got a call Sunday morning about an unconscious person at Reeves Meadow in Harriman State Park. The hiker was about a mile and a half deep into the woods.

A state park police officer was already giving CPR when EMS crews arrived. Several other local departments and teams also came to help.

Despite their efforts, the hiker died at the scene.
