A Hudson Valley family held a fundraiser in New City on Saturday to benefit a hospital's neonatal intensive care unit that saved their infant son's life

A standing-room only crowd gathered at the restaurant Norcina. The star of the show was 8-month-old Robby Hiep who was born with multiple health challenges.

Robby's family says they owe their son's survival to the doctors and nurses at Valley Hospital in Paramus, New Jersey.

"Not only did they care for my son for 106 days, but they cared for my husband and I. And they held our hand when days were dark and they were there in the best moments and the worst," said Robby's mother, Hannah Hiep.

With food offerings of pizza and pasta and some upbeat music, the fundraiser was organized to help the hospital patients who may be facing some of the same health challenges as little Robby.

"We figured what better way to give back than to donate to the place that, I don't want to say saved our son, but really saved our son," said Robby Hiep Sr.

Family friend Aileen Kelly considers baby Robby and his parents as part of her own family.

"I felt really bad for them, but they've come out the other side and it's amazing what they're doing," she said.
