A Canarsie woman says her NYCHA apartment has been inhabitable for almost a decade.
The woman, who did not want to be identified, said she had to spend thousands of her own money for temporary fixes, including broken pipes that caused flooding, mold and mildew - and even rats.
She says that she has filed nearly a dozen complaints since 2016.
A representative from NYCHA tells News 12 that it has scheduled the necessary follow up visits to conduct repairs and address the tenant's concerns.
