Yonkers police responded to a call about shots fired in the 200 block of Riverdale Avenue Wednesday evening.

Police confirmed one person was injured when they were grazed by a bullet.

There was a portion of a sidewalk blocked off by police. Other officers could be seen around an ambulance.

As of Wednesday night, police haven't said if an arrest was made, if a weapon was recovered or if the person struck was male or female.

News 12 spoke with one person who said they heard the shots.

"I was just minding my business and all I hear is pop pop. And I thought, you know, it's just normal for where I come from," said Ahmed, who is from the Bronx. "I hope nobody got hurt, you know."

Police say the victim's injuries are believed to be minor.

The investigation is ongoing.
