Iona Preparatory students participated in the annual solidarity sleepout Friday night. About 40 students learned and advocated for the homeless. It even included sleeping outside in cardboard homes. But because of the rain, students had the option to sleep inside. “It's really to get a better understanding of what the daily life of a homeless person is, to better take a walk in their shoes, to empathize with them," says Matty Zimmerman, a student. Students also made sandwiches for the homeless and heard from speakers.
