‘It’s a noise issue.’ Con Edison project in Hartsdale has been disturbing residents

Residents in a Hartsdale neighborhood say they're frustrated that their peace and quiet is being interrupted by a Con Edison project that continues to keep them up at night.
Con Edison workers installed a metal cover on East Hartsdale Avenue following a repair project last year. It generates noise when cars run over it that can be heard by residents in two nearby buildings.
The noise is so loud, that Amy Reinman says she can hear it from her sixth-floor apartment.
"It's horrible, especially at night, 'cause when the big trucks come in, they make so much noise," she says.
Residents who have lived on the street for decades say their peace and quiet was interrupted by the project last September. Steven Reinman says the metal piece and the cars that travel over it 24 hours a day, seven days a week are responsible for his many nights of lost sleep.
"It's tough to sleep at night. In the morning, it's difficult because cars are coming by to go to work, but at night it's also difficult... It's a noise issue," he says.
A Con Edison spokeswoman said the utility is aware of the problem and is “working toward a solution.”
