18h agoCharges against a Mount Vernon police officer accused of using excessive force during an arrest have been dismissed.
A lack of evidence was cited in dismissing the case before a jury was able to render a verdict.
Ryan Hughes, 32, was accused of reckless endangerment in the incident, which occurred in 2019 inside the Mount Vernon Police Department building.
