The results of a recent Quinnipiac Poll show Democratic incumbent Senator Hillary Clinton with a commanding lead over possible Republican challenger Jeanine Pirro in the Senate race.
Even with the election still 13 months away, the poll results have people wondering if the Westchester district attorney will stay in the race. Senator Clinton?s lead is more than twice that of Pirro. Political analysts say that edge may be hard for any challenger to overcome at the polls.
Despite being the choice of most Republicans, Pirro is not faring much better than the other two hopefuls also vying for the party line, Manhattan attorney Edward Cox and former Yonkers Mayor John Spencer.
If Pirro choose to drop out of the Senate race, she could still seek another law enforcement office, but some analysts believe she will ride out the Senate race.
