Legoland of Yonkers donates supplies to students at Westchester School for Special Children
A school for children with special needs will receive the building blocks for a successful school year, thanks to Legoland in Yonkers.
Westchester School for Special Children was chosen by Legoland for the School Supply Collection Campaign, which donates school supplies to students with special needs and disabilities.
The charity program chooses several schools each quarter to receive gifts that will also make learning fun for students.
Corrine Safarowic, principal at the Westchester School for Special Children, found out in late August that her students would be a part of Legoland's campaign. Safarowic says it was really great for her school to be selected by Legoland because they don't have much money to buy the students extra items.
At a later date, students at the school's two Yonkers locations will receive their colored markers, art supplies, notebooks, pens and pencils.
