The New York Liberty were victorious, 91-80, Saturday during a matchup with the WNBA’s newest star Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever.

It was the college basketball legend’s first game at Barclays Center.

"It was fun to play here in New York for the first time. Playing in this environment, I think, brings out the best in a competitor. Like, I love playing in these environments," said Clark.

The game generated a lot of buzz and many fans told News12 they were looking forward to finally seeing Clark play.

Brianna Stewart dominated, scoring 24 points to put the Liberty in the lead. Indiana Fever started strong but lost momentum in the second half.

Fans told News 12 that the league is making an impact off the court.

"I hope this gives little girls the idea and the inspiration that they can do anything they put their mind to, and just put the work in. And, maybe one day, they'll end up like Caitlin Clark," a fan told News 12.
