The road ban is being implemented due to hazardous winter weather conditions, including heavy snowfall and wind. Mount Vernon prepares for another snowstorm
5:25 PM: The City of Mount Vernon is preparing for another round of winter weather as a major snowstorm approaches. DPW officials say mechanics have spent the week inspecting and servicing snow removal equipment to ensure everything is ready. They are confident in the city’s ability to manage the snowfall but are asking residents for patience as crews work through the city’s extensive road network. They also want to remind residents to avoid parking on emergency snow routes, street corners, and refrain from shoveling snow back into the street, which can hinder cleanup efforts.
