Bronx veterans gave News 12 The Bronx their opinion on President Barack Obama's speech Wednesday night about how he plans to combat the terror group ISIS.

In his speech, Obama said he was authorizing airstrikes in Syria for the first time, along with more in Iraq. Nearly 500 additional noncombat troops will also be sent to Iraq to help security forces go after ISIS. The group, with ties to al-Qaida, is behind the beheadings of two American journalists.

Marines Gonzalo Duran and Justin Kinard say they agree with Obama's plan. "I feel that we should get involved because they've made threats to us, directly to us, so I strongly agree with the president," says Kinard. Duran says he agrees with Obama, but would like to see ground troops as well.

Adrian Elias, who served two overseas tours with the Navy, thinks America should pull out completely. "It's just going to cause more chaos than help anything."
