Locust Grove Estate was once the home of Samuel Morse, the inventor of Morse code. He lived there from 1847 to 1875. Visitors can explore original telegraph equipment, his paintings, and the mansion where he lived.
After Morse, the Young family moved in during 1895. Annette Young lived in the mansion until her death in 1975, and everything inside remains original to the home.
The estate also features gardens planted by the Young family, known for peonies in spring and dahlias in fall. Events include decorated pumpkins in October and a monthly Sunset Sensations tasting menu with wine pairings.
Museum engagement coordinator Courtney Conte says, "We also have the transverse gallery, which rotates every couple of months, and we feature a local artist and their artwork."
