Multiple agencies worked to save a man and his dog from a ravine Friday in Somers.
Officials say the man was searching for his dog when he entered the ravine near Stone House Road. He became stuck about 150 feet down just before 4 p.m.
A neighbor called 911 and reported the emergency. Crews rushed to the scene and began the rescue.
"Our members were able to get him out on a back board, they were able to check him out and luckily, he is okay,” said Somers Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Hopper.
Authorities say the dog was brought to a nearby emergency veterinarian and is expected to recover.
