An Orange County man was sentenced to two and a third to seven years in prison Wednesday for accidentally shooting his grandson during a hunting trip and failing to get him help immediately.Wayne Kingston, 59, pleaded guilty to manslaughter charges earlier in August, admitting he accidentally shot his 13-year-old grandson, David, while hunting in Sparrowbush last Thanksgiving. The victim?s cousin, Jake Kingston, pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of criminally negligent homicide in April. He was sentenced to five years probation and 20 weekends in the Orange County Jail.
The prosecution contended the two men were more concerned about getting caught hunting without a proper permit than getting help for David.
