A 25-year-old man was shot three times and stabbed in the chest in Fordham, authorities say.

Officers established a crime scene near Creston Avenue and East 191st Street just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.

News 12 crews observed a heavy police presence in the area as officers worked to find out what led up to the violent incident, which police say unfolded outside.

The man suffered two gunshot wounds to his legs and one to his arm in addition to a stab wound to the chest.

EMS took him to St. Barnabas Hospital where he is expected to recover.
