Thousands of masks and bottles of hand sanitizer were given out Tuesday in Orange County as part of a statewide effort to lower the rise in COVID-19 cases.
Officials with the Office of Emergency Management say the shipment of supplies, including 175,000 masks - were provided by the state.
Residents and businesses lined up in their cars throughout the day at OEM headquarters in Goshen.
Officials say county municipalities are next.
"All three cities and all the towns in the county will be getting part of our shipment we got from the state along with some rapid tests. That's probably going to happen tomorrow. And then it'll be incumbent upon the town supervisors and the mayors to figure out a distribution strategy within their municipality," says Brendan Casey, of the Orange County Office of Emergency Management.
County officials say anyone in need of supplies should contact their local representatives.
