Mass transit systems in Hudson Valley and around the country are on high alert Thursday after the London terror attacks.

Four blasts rocked the London subway system and ripped apart a double-decker bus, killing at least 37 people. Governor Pataki (R-NY) ordered state troopers to patrol all commuter trains in and out of New York City. Commuters at the Metro-North train station in Pearl River saw the increased police presence on all trains and platforms. Many commuters say they are comforted by the sight of the extra security patrols.

Police officials say there is also increased security presence at the Tappan Zee Bridge and on the Hudson River. Although there are increased patrols, officials say there is no direct threat to New York at this time.
