The Middletown school district has released an 11-point plan to improve student safety and provide support following a violent cafeteria melee last week.
Dozens of Middletown High School kids witnessed the fight during their lunch period. One student is seen in a video covering his face and ears in fear as at least three separate fights unfolded around him. Other kids were heard screaming, and some were seen on the video running as blood splattered on the wall.
"These kids should be expelled," says Meghan Smith, of Middletown. "If they initiate one instance of violence they should be expelled.
The incident is the latest in a string of school violence that News 12 has reported on since the start of the school year.
Parents, staff and the community say whatever the reason something has to change.
