Police in an Orange County community want to start up a neighborhood watch program to encourage people to watch out for each other.
Monroe Police Chief Dominic Giudice says communities that have a neighborhood watch have been shown to be statistically safer.
With new developments being built and more people moving into Monroe, Giudice says starting the program would help unify the community.
"Obviously the neighborhood's much stronger and safer if you know your neighbor and you know what's usual at your neighbor's house," he says.
