More childcare options are on the way for some neighborhoods in the city, according to Mayor Zohran Mamdani.

Mandani announced an additional 1,000 seats will be available this fall for Pre-K and 3-K.

District 11 in the northeast Bronx will be among the neighborhoods where families can apply for a seat.

One center will be inside a DOE building in Brooklyn and it will have the capacity for 63 kids.

City leaders say the building was ready to welcome students in 2023 but has sat vacant for the last three years.

The centers and programs are being funded in part by the $1.2 billion that Gov. Kathy Hochul committed earlier this year to expand universal childcare.
