More than 50 people were displaced from their homes after a three-alarm fire destroyed a Longwood Avenue apartment building.
Fire officials say the flames broke out in a fourth-floor apartment just after 6 p.m. Friday. Residents returned to their apartments Saturday to salvage some belongings. Tenants will receive help and temporary housing from the Red Cross, but many say they are unsure where they'll go once the aid runs out.
A barber shop and an ice cream vendor on the ground floor suffered extensive water damage. Fire officials say the blaze was accidental.
At least nine firefighters were treated for minor injuries.
