Mother and daughters struck by vehicle in Mamaroneck crosswalk
A mother and her two children were struck by a vehicle Saturday morning at an intersection in Mamaroneck.
Police received a notification of pedestrians struck just after 10 a.m. at Mamaroneck Avenue and Prospect Avenue.
Officers responded and found a 44-year-old Mamaroneck resident and her two daughters, ages 5 and 2, at the scene. Police say the driver was a 44-year-old Larchmont man who remained at the scene and is cooperating with police.
The initial investigation shows that the pedestrians had the crosswalk signal and the driver had a green light, but the driver failed to yield to the pedestrians in a crosswalk.
The driver was issued a summons for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
The pedestrians were taken to Westchester Medical Center. No serious injuries were reported.
