A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Dutchess County Monday.

Police say the accident happened around 6 p.m. on Route 22 near Kitchen Corners Road in the Town of Dover.

State police say 73-year-old Rodney Clark was operating a motorcycle southbound with one passenger. They say he attempted to go around two vehicles at the same time in a passing zone and struck the lead vehicle, which was making a left-hand turn to exit the road.

Clark was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.
