Mount Vernon hosted its first large public workshop on its Comprehensive Plan Monday night.
It was an interactive workshop, so people got a chance to go from station to station sharing their ideas on a variety of topics, like housing, transportation and how the downtown should look.
People got to see the data already gathered from smaller community meetings and were able to add new thoughts on everything from business in the city to green space.
The workshop was for the city's first Comprehensive Plan since 1968 - and was a campaign promise from Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard to put a new plan in place.
People shared all sorts of feedback, including restoring facades on downtown businesses and adding green space to pull together a city divided by train tracks.
There will be another large meeting in June to share some designs and get final feedback before the first draft of the plan comes together in the fall.
