Starving dog found abandoned in Marlboro

A Mount Vernon woman is being hailed as a hero for rescuing a kitten Wednesday on the Major Deegan Expressway.

Paulina Kaczmarczk says she received a text message from a fellow animal rescuer about the kitten being stuck on the median in The Bronx.

Kaczmarczk was 40 minutes away but rushed to the scene in order to help.

Upon arrival, she found a police officer to stop the traffic while she retrieved the kitten.
