The MTA is planning to deploy 60 zero-emission electric buses across New York City by the end of the year.
Gov. Kathy Hochul says the effort is on top of the state's $1.1 million in funding to buy another 500 electric buses.
"Our passengers will be part of knowing that they're doing everything they can in their power to ensure that we're making sure the future is better for our children and our grandchildren,” Hochul says.
This is part of the MTA's effort to deploy a zero-emission bus fleet by 2040.
