A New Fairfield Middle School cafeteria aide is accused of sexually assaulting a student, according to state police.
State police say Andie Rosafort, 31, an employee of the New Fairfield public school system, had been communicating through private messages on social media for several months with the student.
Police began an investigation on Jan. 17 after they were contacted by New Fairfield High School administrators who received information about a school system employee possibly having inappropriate contact with a student.
Police say the victim explained to investigators that they had allegedly received unsolicited sexually explicit images and videos of Rosafort that she sent from a social media account.
The victim further alleged that Rosafort would send messages requesting images of them as well.
Police say Rosafort had sexual contact with the student inside of her SUV when the two met up at a party on Jan 13.
Rosafort faces several charges including sexual assault.
New Fairfield Superintendent of Schools Kenneth G. Craw says Rosafort is no longer employed by the district.
