The age limit for riding an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) is now 14 years old, up from 10 years old.

State Sen. Pete Harckham (D-40) and Assemblymember Amy Paulin (D-88) advocated for the bill, which was signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

The bill also mandates that children under sixteen operating an ATV be supervised by someone 18 years or older.

New York ranks among the top ten states in ATV accidents.
