Retail giant Target is coming to the Cross County Center in Yonkers.
The store is taking the place of what used to be the country's most successful Sears location, and will be utilizing the first and second floors as well as half of the third floor of the building.
Officials at the Cross County Shopping Center tell News 12 that if all goes as planned, the store could be open in a year. Plans for approval on that process are starting this week.
Liz Pollack, senior marketing director of the Cross County Center, says it is the first Target to open in the city of Yonkers. Pollack says it is taking 130,000 square-feet of the 220,000 square-foot building and has signed a 40-year lease.
