A Town of Newburgh firefighter is expected to be okay after being hit by a car while trying to put out a brush fire Thursday.
Town of Newburgh police say the Cronomer Valley firefighter is recovering at home and is on the mend.
The volunteer rescuer was pulling a water hose to the fire on Meadow Street when he was hit and then airlifted to the hospital.
Authorities say the driver will not face any charges.
