Hundreds gathered in Yorktown Heights for an early observance of Oct. 7.
The memorial took place at the Yorktown Community and Cultural Center.
Coordinators said they put it together to honor the victims and survivors of the Oct. 7 attacks.
Attendees lit candles, sang songs, memorialized the people involved, and talked about the hostages.
Atir Vinnikov, a Nova Music Festival survivor, also spoke at the event.
He opened up about why it was important to share his in Westchester.
"I'm here to preach unity and resilience both in Jewish communities and all American communities. I will definitely seize the opportunity to call for the love of others," Vinnikov said.
Other people who attended the event said they couldn't help but think of the hostages who still remain in captivity.
