A Nyack man says Veterans Day is a somber reminder that a tribute he and his mother planned for his late father has not been followed through on.
Lonnie Leonard Jr. says his father, who died in 2007, served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He says a memorial marker etched with his father's name, rank and service has yet to be placed at the foot of the veteran's grave at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Leonard's mother, 89-year-old Ruth Leonard, says she filed a $2.5 million lawsuit that accuses the cemetery and its superintendent of failing to install the marker at the grave site.
