An NYPD officer was injured Monday morning while attempting to stop a suspected fare evader, police said.

The struggle happened at the Parkchester Ave Subway Station on Monday morning.

The officer fell down a flight of stairs during the chase, sustaining a cut to his face.

The thief, who managed to outrun the officer, was described by police sources as a man wearing all black.
