Snow in October is certainly rare, but the Hudson Valley could see some this weekend as temperatures are already falling.
The forecast calls for wet, slushy snow in parts of Orange County on Saturday. After such a snowy season last year, the thought of the white stuff gives some people the chills, but others are OK with it coming into town this early.
"Moved up here a couple of winters ago from Jersey and it's a lot worse up here when it comes. When it gets trapped in these mountains, it just sticks around for a while - it could be bad," says Dawn Thomspon, of Warwick.
