Authorities say an NYPD officer was attacked while confronting a stabbing suspect in Fordham.
Two officers approached the 41-year-old man just before 5:30 p.m. Thursday near East 188th Street and Tiebout Avenue. The man threw an object at the officers, striking one of them in the head.
Police say the officer suffered a minor laceration to his head. He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in a police car and is expected to recover.
The 41-year-old man is accused of stabbing another man about five hours earlier near East 167th Street and Gerard Avenue. The victim is expected to be OK, authorities say.
