Fire officials are calling Monday's fire at a former girls' school in Monroe suspicious.

Dozens of firefighters battled the fast-moving blaze that investigators say started in one of the now empty trailers of the former school and quickly spread to five others. No one was injured, but smoke and flames could be seen from miles away.

The trailers are located on property that belongs to both Monroe and Kiryas Joel.

Investigators say they are in the process of examining evidence and looking at the possibility that arson may have been the cause. The fire chief says it could be at least a month before they learn if the fire was intentionally set.
