The Town of Goshen PBA says that there is a state of emergency in effect for the town due to extreme weather.

“An extreme weather event occurred this afternoon, causing multiple street closures. Power outages, and trees down on the road and private property. Telephone poles were snapped, and wires are down everywhere,” officials wrote in a statement.

The PBA advises residents to be careful in the area and not to touch any downed wires.

Officials say the town’s fireworks event was canceled due to the weather emergency.
